Blue Jay Original Sumi-e Painting
Matted dimension is 16” x 14”. The beauty of each individual stroke of the brush can be seen in the painting of the Blue Jay. It is as if Wilders has painted a song or a poem and indeed, this is the essence of Sumi-e. Susan Wilders is teaching in the 2021 Appalachian summer program. She was artist in residence for 17 years at the Morikami Japanese Museum in Delray Beach Florida, and taught Chinese art Lingnan style as well as Gong-bi elaborate style at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach Florida. She has been artist in residence at the Edgewood Cottage, Blowing Rock and has exhibited at various venues. Her paintings are in collections throughout the USA and Europe. She has been painting for 29 years and is a member of the Sumi-e Society of America.
